Paper

Most paper pulp is made from trees, though it can also be made from bamboo, cotton, hemp, jute, and a wide range of other plant materials. Paper industry is an agro-based industry and it includes enterprises that make pulp, paper, paperboard, and other cellulose-based goods from wood as a raw material. It is an important and essential industry for any country. India has 861 paper mills, 526 of which are operational, with a total installed capacity of 27.15 million tonnes.

Paper is exported to over 209 countries and in the year 2020-2021 (Apr-Nov), India has exported paper worth of 857.65 USD million. China is the largest market for paper export from India, in 2020-2021 (Apr-Nov) China imported 148.15 USD million worth paper from India.
